Welcome to Identity In The Modern World! This website goes in depth about the definition of identity. It uses poetry, photography, art, music, film, cartoons and advertisement to vigorously distinguish the meaning of identity. All the ideas from this website comes from various artists that have a unique opinion and philosophy about identity. Our content is created for viewers to find something they believe in. Something that helps them define who they are. We try to relate as much of the subject matter as to what we are being taught in school but with a different timeline. We would like to thank all the credited artists and our own artists who helped design the website's visual aspects.
THEME OF IDENTITY
Throughout these three great pieces of literature, one can't help but become immersed in the incredible adventures that they have to offer. For instance, Three Day Road offered the reader a strong message of identity that resonated throughout the novel and delivered a strong and spiritual ending which truly affected us as the readers. The journey expertly delivered to us throughout the words of Joseph Boyden helped expose the harsh truths of war, drug use, and unfairness among cultures during the world wars.
Perhaps one of the better pieces of literature in class was Macbeth. Being a story full of twists and realistic elements, this play definitely stands out from the rest. The fact that the play shows how someone who worked hard to gain power but then have that lead to their downfall was absolutely genius as it can be interpreted into an everyday scenario. For instance, if someone gets a promotion but has no prior knowledge, they will not be able to handle their new position. This was more or less the point in Macbeth which is why it is absolutely brilliant. Not to mention that a play written quite a long time ago can still be used in comparison to life nowadays, which is truly interesting for today's audience.
Lastly, Vimy being the most recent play we’ve read introduces war in a way we haven't seen much before. By adding personalities to the soldiers that fought in Vimy, we can truly admire the sacrifices they made for us. Vimy shares lots of strong feelings of love, and friendship with very little sadness, which makes it very unique to today's readers. Not to mention that Vimy adds a twist in the end with having the main characters be nothing but flashbacks. This twist makes the play truly beautiful because it shows us to appreciate what we have.
